RV Life Sedona

New Year’s and Tough Towing Conditions

April 24, 2017

Ahhhh, the days between Christmas and New Years. We decide to go into Flagstaff to get some Thai our friend Matt recommended. YUMMMMM, and I did find a pair of hiking boots after looking at all of the stores. Hiking boots have vastly improved my outdoor adventure life. I no longer feel like I am going to fall over every time I hike, I can conquer the world!!! Just wanted to share that, because I am amazed at how much I needed them.

We took down our Christmas decorations and decided to give our dead Christmas tree a viking funeral and enjoy some time around the fire. Where we got a lot of our epic night photos. I still cannot believe how amazing the stars are in Sedona.

Not much happened these couple days. We worked and didn’t record often because it was boring. Then we celebrated New Years! We were super lame and celebrated the East Coast New Years, and fell asleep before the West Coast one! 😉

We decided to leave on New Years day for Quartzsite. We originally planned on leaving Sedona before then, but we weren’t ready to leave. The beauty of this lifestyle. 🙂

The weather though. 😳 If you decide to boondock in this location, I highly recommend keeping an eye on the weather. We should have left on a dry day, and arrived on a dry day. But we ended up leaving after it had been raining pretty consistently. The washes get full, and the sand gets hard to drive on. As you can see in the video, we did make it! But wow, it was a very stressful 20 minutes of our lives. lol

And we were off to Quartzsite, a place we have never been to! We were excited for new things after we repeated a lot of locations. Also, sort of nervous. For the past 3 winter’s we have been away from Pittsburgh, and have gone to basically the same areas each time. They have become comfortable to us, and we know our way around. Isn’t that funny? We get away from Pittsburgh to live this adventurous life to go to the same places over and over again? While we do love those places, we chatted about how silly it was that we were repeating ourselves. The whole point of this life is to see new things and experience things that are not always comfortable. So we are excited for 2017 to be uncomfortable but adventurous. If you have been keeping up with our instagram you know we both got colds and crazy poison oak, so the the literal uncomfortable part we have down! 😳 lol

Anyway, here is our newest video:

Where we ate

Dara Thai

Kev had the pad thai and I had the thai pasta, both yummy comfort dishes as it was a cold day out. We enjoyed our lunch!

Where we stayed

Loy Butte Road

We parked on Loy Butte, where we stayed last year and first fell in love with boondocking. The coordinates? 34.8612, -111.9446 We love it here so much, 360 views of the red rocks, and beautiful tall grass. Minimal cactus, but our dogs are pros at avoiding them now! 💪🏽

Where Mandy bought her boots

Peace Surplus

Amazing service. We went into all of the outdoor shops in Flagstaff and we were impressed with the selection and service here. I bought my boots here and couldn’t be happier to support them! 🙂

Hi Mimzy and Buster! Youtube is just a side project we started for our families to keep up with us while we are on the road. With us both working full time it falls on the back burner. But I (mandy) am taking some time away from my full time work to put more effort into our content! Thanks for watching!
